ABSTRAK AIS FA170 adalah salah satu alat navigasi yang diterapkan pada semua kapal. AIS FA170 tipe ini dipasang dan dipakai pada kapal perang SSV 2 yang dikerjakan oleh PT.X khususnya divisi kapal niaga. Pada divisi kapal niaga saat ini telah dipercayai untuk membuat kapal perang SSV 2. AIS sebagai suatu sistem yang sangat vital dalam transportasi laut, karena sangat membantu dalam melacak secara otomatis posisi kapal dan dengan pelayanan lalu lintas kapal (VTS) untuk mengidentifikasi dan menemukan kapal oleh elektronik pertukaran data dengan kapal lain di dekatnya. Karena keterbatasan dari kemampuan radio, dan karena tidak semua kapal yang dilengkapi dengan AIS, sistem ini berarti yang diutamakan untuk digunakan sebagai alat peninjau dan untuk menghindarkan resiko dari tabrakan daripada sebagai sistem pencegah tabrakan secara otomatis, sesuai dengan International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea. Pada kapal perang SSV 2 ini AIS yang digunakan telah memakai tipe yang terbaru dari tipe yang digunakan pada kapal yang sama sebelumnya, yang tentunya semua sistem yang tersedia lebih bagus dari tipe yang sebelumnya, tetapi meskipun AIS tipe terbaru harus ada seatrial, karena dengan seatrial dapat diketahui alat tersebut berfungsi normal atau tidak sesuai dengan fungsinya. Kata kunci: AIS FA-170, Navigasi kapal, sistem kerja ABSTRACT AIS FA170 is one of the navigation tools applied to all ships. This type AIS FA170 is installed and used on SSV 2 warships which are undertaken by PT.X especially the commercial ship division. In today's commercial ship division it has been believed to make SSV 2 warships. AIS as a vital system in marine transportation, as it is helpful in automatically tracking ship positions and with vessel traffic service (VTS) to identify and locate ships by Electronic data exchange with other vessels nearby. Due to the limitations of radio capabilities, and since not all ships are equipped with AIS, this system means that it is preferred to be used as a review tool and to avoid the risk of collisions rather than as an automatic collision prevention system, in accordance with the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea. In this SSV 2 warship the AIS used has used the newest type of type used on the same vessel before, of course all the available systems are better than the previous type, but although the latest AIS type should have seatrial, as with seatrial can Known tool is functioning normally or not in accordance with its function.
