ABSTRAK Cylinder liner merupakan salah satu komponen penting yang berpengaruh terhadap kerja mesin diesel. Dimana cylinder liner memiliki fungsi sebagai tempat pergerakkan piston, tempat ruang bakar untuk pembakaran mesin, dan tempat kompresi piston. Begitu pentingnya fungsi dari cylinder liner maka apabila terjadi kerusakan ataupun keausan pada cylinder liner maka akan berpengaruh pada kerja dari mesin diesel. Kerusakan pada cylinder liner terjadi terhadap mesin diesel type MAN D 2542 MTE. Dimana kerusakan ini mengakibatkan turunnya daya pada mesin tersebut. Sehingga mesin harus dioverhaul dan dilakukan pergantian terhadap cylinder liner maupun komponen-komponen mesin yang lain. Selain melakukan overhaul perlu adanya proses analisa untuk mengetahui penyebab kerusakan cylinder liner terhadap turunnya daya (IHP) pada mesin diesel type MAN D 2542 MTE. Beradasarkan hasil perhitungan dan analisa didapatkan data daya (IHP) yang dihasilkan sebelum overhaul dan sesudah overhaul menunjukkan keberhasilan peningkatan daya mesin, yaitu pada putaran mesin 1100 rpm sampai 1500 rpm daya mengahasilkan peningkatan daya IHP dari 632,977 HP sampai 863,151 HP menjadi 664,235 HP sampai 905,776 HP. Dari data perhitungan sesudah overhaul diketahui persentasi peningkatan daya (IHP) mesin 4,94 %. Daya mesin yang menurun dikarenakan terdapat keausan dan keretakkan pada cylinder liner mesin yang mengakibatkan turunnya tekanan sehingga mesin tidak dapat bekerja dengan optimal. Kata kunci : Mesin Diesel ,Cylinder Liner, Daya (IHP), ABSTRACT Cylinder liner is one of the important components that supports the performance of a diesel. The cylinder liner works as a place where piston moves, as a combustion chamber for burning engine, and a place for piston compression. The cylinder liner is very important, and if it is damaged, it will affect the performance of the diesel itself.Cylinder liner damage actually happened on MAN D 2542 MTE diesel engine, where the damage causes the power of the diesel to decrease. Because of that, the engine needs to be overhauled and the cylinder liner, along with some other components, to be replaced. Other than overhauling, analysis of the cause of the damage is needed to be done. The IHP that is taken before and after the hauling is different. It shows that the hauling process indeed helps in increasing the engine performance; from 1100 rpm to 1500 rpm can give out IHP from 632.977 HP until 863.151 HP to 905.776 HP. From the calculation data after the overhaul is known percentage of power increase (IHP) of engine 4,94%. The decreasing performance of the engine is because the cylinder liner is worn out and cracking which also causes the decreasing pressure so the engine cannot work optimally.
