Abstract

ABSTRAK Heat Exchanger merupakan salah satu komponen penting pendukung sistem dalam proses produksi PT. ALP. Petro Industri. Prinsip kerjanya adalah mentransfer energi panas (entalpi) antara dua fluida atau lebih. Heat Exchanger E202 difungsikan sebagai reboiler, yaitu memanaskan stripped water hingga 130 o C yang selanjutnya akan ditreatment pada Sour Water Stripper (SWS) untuk mengeliminasi gas-gas berbahaya. Heat Exchanger E202 mengalami kebocoran pada sisi tube sehingga dilakukan pergantian material tube. Pergantian material dilakukan oleh vendor sehingga belum diketahuinya laju perpindahan panas dan pressure drop dari material sebelum dan sesudah. Mengingat banyaknya kerusakan akibat kebocoran tube pada heat exchanger di PT. ALP Petro Industri dan pentingnya fungsi heat exchanger bagi keseluruhan sistem, maka dilakukan perhitungan terhadap performa perpindahan panas Heat Echanger dari material tube sebelum dan sesudah diganti dengan menggunakan metode Log Mean Temperature Difference (LMTD). Sehingga perhitungan ini nantinya dapat digunakan sebagai acuan pergantian material selanjutnya. Setelah dilakukan perhitungan perpindahan panas dari heat exchanger E202. Performa HE E202 jika dilihat dari nilai LMTD, perpindahan panas maupun pressure drop material yang lebih baik digunakan adalah tipe SA 179, yaitu memiliki nilai Q pendekatsn kondensasi sebesar 7285,265 W dan pressure drop pada sisi shell 140,7067 Pa dan pada sisi tube 32090,99 Pa. Kata Kunci : Heat Exchanger, Log Mean Temperature Difference (LMTD), Pressure Drop, Heat Transfer, Shell and Tube Performance of Heat Exchanger. ABSTRACT Heat Exchanger is one of the essential components of the supporting systems in the production process of PT. ALP. Petro Industri. The principle of work is the transfer of heat energy (entalphy) between two or more fluid. Heat Exchanger E202 functioned as the reboiler, namely heat stripped water up to 130 o C that would in treathment on SWS (Sour Water Stripper) to eliminate harmfull gases. Heat Exchanger E202 experienced a leak on the side of the tube so that it is done turn the material tube. Turn the material performed by the vendor so yet he knows the rate of the heat transfer and pressure drop of the material before and after. Given the large number of damage from leaks in the heat exchanger tube on PT. ALP Petro Industri and the importance of the function of Heat Echanger for the entire system, then do the calculation of heat transfer performance against Heat Exchanger of the material before and after was replaced by using method Log Mean Temperature Difference (LMTD). So this calculation would later be used as reference material in the next turn. After the calculation of the Heat Transfer HE E202. HE 202 performance of LMTD value, heat transfer or pressure drop. Better material used is type SA 179, that has value Q condensation approach of 7285,265 W and pressure drop on the side of the shell and tube side 140,7067 Pa and 32090,99 Pa.
