Abstract

ABSTRAK Cooling tower berfungsi sebagai alat penukar panas (pendinginan air) yang berfungsi sangat penting. Salah satu komponen utama dari cooling tower yaitu v-belt. Pada studi kasus dilapangan sering terjadi masalah kerusakan v-belt yang seharusnya digunakan 15 bulan turun menjadi 8-9 bulan saja dan hal tersebut tentu merugikan perusahaan. Tugas akhir ini difokuskan pada perencanaan penggantian v-belt. Perencanaan dilakukan dengan membandingkan data perhitungan secara teoritis yaitu lama usia pemakaian v-belt, daya transmisi v-belt, gaya tegangan maksimuml, elastisitas v-belt, serta perhitungan setelah di upgrade. Untuk itu perlu dilakukan pemilihan v-belt dengan tipe yang sesuai. Setelah dilakukan perhitungan secara teoritis didapatkan lama usia pemakaian v-belt sebesar 10906,242 atau 15 bulan, daya transmisi v-belt 3,44 HP, gaya tegangan maksimum sebesar 562,833 N dan elastisitas sebesar 1,53 × 10 −4 m, perhitungan v-belt setelah di upgrade pada v-belt yang telah diupgrade mulai dari gaya tegangan maksimum sebesar 1142,57 N, elastisitas sebesar 2,33 × 10 −5 m serta mampu mentransmisikan daya sebesar 4,6 HP. Sehingga pada tugas akhir ini didapatkan v-belt tipe optibelt-sk-spb dengan daya transmisi lebih besar dibanding v-belt tipe bandoo B-145. Kata kunci : Cooling Tower, Daya Transmisi, Elastisitas, Gaya Tegangan Maksimum, Lifetime, V-belt. ABSTRACT The cooling tower serves as a very important heat exchanger (air cooling). One of the main components of the cooling tower is v-belt. In the case study of the field is often the case of v - belt that should be used 15 months down to 8-9 months only and this is of course detrimental to the company. This final project focuses on planning v-belt replacement. Planning is done by comparing theoretical calculation data length of life of v-belt, v-belt transmission power, maximum voltage force, v-belt elasticity, and calculation. For that we need to select the v-belt with the appropriate type. After the theoretical calculation, the use of v-belt is 10906,242 or 15 months, 3,44 HP v-belt power transmission, maximum voltage force of 562,833 N, elasticity of 1,53 × 10 −4 �, v-belt calculations after upgrading on upgraded v-belts starting from the maximum voltage force of 1142,57 N And has a elasticity of 2,33 × 10 −4 and capable of transmitting power of 4,6 HP. After upgrading so that in this final project we get v-belt type optibelt-sk -spb with greater transmission power than v-belt bandoo type B-145.
