ABSTRAK Di dunia industri dan transportasi motor diesel sangat berpengaruh dan banyak digunakan untuk kerja manusia. Motor diesel adalah jenis khusus dari mesin pembakaran dalam (direct injection), sistem pembakaran dalam motor diesel sangatlah penting untuk kinerja motor diesel. Pada penelitian ini akan dilakukan analisa studi komparasi unjuk kerja lscs piston chamber dan flat piston chamber four stoke small marine diesel. Pada penelitian ini sistem pembakaran baru dikenal dengan nama lateral swirl combustion system (lscs). Peforma motor diesel dapat diperoleh dengan perhitungan daya dan konsumsi bahan bakar yang dihasilkan dari dua bentuk piston chamber. Pengujian ini dilakukan dengan menyambungkan motor diesel dan generator, beban generator yang digunakan adalah 1000 watt, 2000 watt, 3000 watt pada variasi putaran mesin 1000 rpm, 1250 rpm, 1500 rpm. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian dan perhitungan daya motor diesel, pada Lscs piston chamber lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan piston standard (flat piston). Daya pada piston LSCS dengan beban generator 1000 watt, 2000 watt, dan 3000 watt pada variasi putaran mesin dihasilkan daya rata-rata 760,232 watt, 1153,742 watt, dan 1318,167 watt. Daya pada piston standard dengan beban generator 1000 watt, 2000 watt, dan 3000 watt pada variasi putaran mesin dihasilkan daya rata-rata 670,168 watt, 1010,102 watt, dan 1205,472 watt. ABSTRACT In the industrial and transportation , motorcycle diesel very influential and widely used for working people. Motor diesel is a special kind of an internal combustion engine (direct injection), the system burning in motor diesel is very important for performance. This research will be analyze the comparison work s of lscs piston chamber and flat piston chamber four stokes small marine diesel. In this study burning new system known as lateral swirl combustion system (lscs). Performance of motor diesel obtained by the calculated the power and fuel consumption resulting from two forms piston chamber. Research done by plug in motor diesel and the generator, with load 1000 watt, 2000 watt, 3000 watt, during the variation of engine rotation 1000 rpm, 1250 rpm, 1500 rpm. Based on the result of the testing and the calculation of engine-output, the LSCS Piston Chamber more higher than the standart piston (flat piston). LSCS piston power with the generator load 1000 watt, 2000 watt, and 3000 watt during the variation of engine rotation resulted the averages power 760,232 watt, 1153,742 watt, and 1318,167 watt. Flat piston power with the generator load 1000W, 2000W,and 3000W during the variation of engine rotation resulted the averages power 670,168 watt, 1010,102 watt, and 1205,472 watt.
