Abstract

ABSTRAK Water hammer adalah fenomena fluida transien yang disebabkan karena perubahan kondisi aliran didalam pipa saat suatu sistem beroperasi, pada kasus ini, perubahan kondisi aliran disebabkan karena buka tutupnya valve saat pengisian bahan bakar pesawat telah selesai. Water hammer yang tidak terkendali dapat berakibat buruk pada instalasi sistem perpipaan, untuk itu didalam instalasi sistem perpipaan perlu dipasang surge absorber untuk meredam efek water hammer dan melindungi pipa dari water hammer itu sendiri. Tugas akhir ini bertujuan untuk menentukan volume surge absorber yang dipilih pada sistem pendistribusian avtur di terminal 3 bandara Soetta telah sesuai untuk mencegah water hammer yang terjadi akibat buka tutupnya hydrant pit valve dengan menentukan banyaknya hydrant pit valve yang diperbolehkan tertutup secara bersamaan sampai menemukan batas aman dari sistem pendistribusian avtur tersebut. Kajian ini dilakukan dengan cara menghitung besarnya kenaikan tekanan akibat buka tutupnya hydrant pit valve secara bersamaan untuk menentukan kebutuhan volume gas surge absorber dan membuat beberapa skenario jumlah penutupan hydrant pit valve. Dari hasil kajian yang telah dilakukan diketahui bahwa surge absorber yang terpasang pada sistem perpipaan pendistribusian avtur di terminal 3 memiliki kapasitas volume gas surge absorber 151,41 liter dan memiliki design pressure 18,96 bar sedangkan untuk batas aman dari jumlah penutupan hydrant pit valve, surge absorber hanya mampu meredam kenaikan tekanan sebanyak 7 hydrant pit valve yang ditutup secara bersamaan. Kata Kunci : water hammer, surge absorber, avtur, hydrant pit valve ABSTRACT Water hammer is a fluid phenomenon transients caused by changes in the flow conditions inside the pipe when an operating system, in this case, changes in flow conditions caused by a closed valve during refueling aircraft had been completed. Uncontrolled water hammer can adversely impact the installation of piping systems, for it is in the installation of piping systems need to be installed surge absorber to dampen the effects of water hammer and protect pipes from water hammer itself. This final project aims to determine the volume surge absorber selected in the distribution system of aviation fuel at the terminal 3 airport Soetta been appropriate to prevent water hammer caused by opening the lid hydrant pit valves to determine the number of hydrant pit valves that allowed closed simultaneously to find the safe limits of the aviation fuel distribution system. The study was conducted by calculating the magnitude of the increase in pressure due to the lid open pit hydrant valve simultaneously to determine the need for gas volume surge absorber and make some scenarios the number of pit hydrant valve closure . From the results of studies that have been made known that the surge absorber installed on the distribution piping system of aviation fuel at the terminal 3 has a capacity surge absorber gas volume 151.41 liters and has a design pressure 18.96 bar while the safe limit of the number of pit closures hydrant valve , surge absorber is only capable of reducing the pressure rise as much as 7 hydrant pit valves are closed simultaneously .
