Abstract

ABSTRAK PT. X merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang manufacturing yaitu perusahaan peleburan baja. Bahan baku utama yang diolah dalam peleburan adalah besi yang berbahan dasar besi-besi tua (scrap). Proses peleburan dilakukan pada plant steel maelting shop yang memiliki kapasitas produksi tahunan 650.000 ton dengan waktu mesin bekerja yaitu 24 jam/hari dengan pembagian sebanyak 3 shift. Permasalahan pada PT. X tidak terlepas dari masalah yang berkaitan dengan efektifitas kerja mesin atau peralatan yang diakibatkan oleh six big losses. Hal ini terlihat dari frekuensi jam berhenti pada mesin continuous casting machine yang menyebabkan target produksi tidak tercapai. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) yaitu metode yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan efisiensi produksi dengan mengeliminasi six big losses yang terdapat pada mesin atau peralatan. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) digunakan sebagai alat ukur dalam penerapan TPM. Objek yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini adalah mesin continuous casting machine. Tahapan yang dilakukan adalah melakukan pengukuran efektifitas mesin menggunakan Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) yang dilanjutkan dengan mencari six big losses. Diagram pareto digunakan untuk mencari 80% akibat dari 20% sebab dalam six big losses.Penyebab dan dampak kegagalan sistem yang menyebabkan six big losses dianalisa menggunakan Fault Tree Anaysis (FTA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai OEE pada tahun 2013, 2014 dan 2015 adalah 77.50%, 74.55% dan 77.81%. Kondisi ini menunjukkan pencapaian efektifitas penggunaan mesin belum mencapai kondisi yang ideal (≤ 85%) menurut standar JIPM. Hasil analisa six big losses yang digambarkan dalam diagram pareto menunjukkan reduced speed dan process defect merupakan faktor yang dianalisa lebih lanjut karena faktor tersebut menyebabkan losses tertinggi, berdasarkan analisis menggunakan diagram FTA didapatkan 20 minimal cutset yang menyebabkan proses produksi terhenti dan menjadi tidak efektif kemudian selanjutnya pembuatan master plan of TPM mengacu pada 8 pilar dalam TPM yaitu health and safety, education and training, autonomous maintenance, planned maintenance, quality maintenance, focused improvement, support system dan initial phase management. X is a company which engages in the field of manufacturing in terms of steel smelting. The staple which is the main concern in steel smelting comes from scrap. The smelting process is undergone in plant steel melting shop which has yearly capacity of production up to 650.000 ton and the machine works for 24 hours/day and is divided into 3 shifts. The main problem of PT. X has something to do with the machine effectiveness caused by six big losses. It is glaring since the frequency of hours stops at the continuous casting machine resulting in target of production not being achieved successfully. The research uses Total Productive Maintenance which is a method used to gain productivity dan efficiency of production by eliminating six big losses in the machine. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is used as the measurement of TPM. The object observed in the research is continuous casting machine. The steps are measuring the effectiveness of the machine by using Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) then finding the six big losses. The causes and results of the system causing six big losses is analyzed by Fault Tree Analysis. The result of the research shows that the value of OEE in 2013, 2014, and 2015 are 77.50%, 74.55%, and 77.81% such condition shows that the use of the machine in order to gain the effectiveness is not ideal (≤ 85%), according to JIPM standard. The result of analysis of the six big losses illustrated using Pareto diagram shows that reduced speed and process defect need further examination because that problem make value of six big losses become big. According to the analysis using FTA diagram, it is concluded that 20 cutset causing the cease of the production and become ineffective, furthermore creating master plan of TPM refers to 8 basic rules of TPM which are health and safety, education and training, autonomous maintenance, planned maintenance, quality maintenance, focused improvement, support system and initial phase management.
