ABSTRACT Water receiver is one form of a pressure vessel or pressurized tank serves to hold the water temporarily and then set up, drain, and distribute into the distribution system. Water receiver is widely used for various applications such as in the industrial sector one for cleaning or fire extinguishers. For it's existence is done a design planning so that the pressurized tank being used can be more efficient, economical and safe. On the process of planning the water receiver this, first determined the magnitude of the design pressure, design temperature, dimensions, type of material used as well as capacity. Then the calculation is done manually with the Guide ASME sec. VIII div. 1 and designing using the assistance software PV Elite. Next up is done analysis using a software application to element software ansys to know stress that occurs in the construction of water receiver to get more valid results. From the results of the calculations manually by Guide ASME sec. VIII div. 1 has done to design Vertical Mini Water Receiver, obtained a thick shell and the head are used 0375 inch and for all the nozzle using the nozzle with the standard schedule. While in the design with the help of PV Elite software acquired almost the same calculation results with manual calculations as in bold required in shell as well as the head of manual calculation in 0.0935 Inch and on the results of the calculation of PV Elite software obtained 0.0935 Inch. Maximum stress results of Von Mises happens to Vertical Mini Water Receiver by using software Ansys of 1537.1 Psi. as for the results of its safety factor obtained amounted to 16.7.
