Abstract

Sistem pendinginan pada engine adalah salah satu sistem yang sangat penting. Ketika sistem pendinginan tersebut bermasalah, maka akan mengakibatkan gangguan pada kinerja diesel engine tersebut. Sistem pendinginan pada diesel engine tersebut ditunjang oleh cooling water pump, dimana cooling water pump tersebut berfungsi untuk mengalirkan air menuju ke cooler untuk membantu menurunkun temperatur panas pada engine lewat air yang telah dialirkan sebagai media penerima panas. Pada cooling water pump auxiliary engine 1 KM. Asia Sejahtera, digunakan pompa rotari jenis vane pump type Johnson F7B. Cooling water pump pada auxiliary engine 1 tidak bekerja dengan optimal diakibatkan karena menurunnya performa kinerja pada cooling water pump auxiliary engine 1 yang mengalami kerusakan pada bagian impelernya. Dalam kondisi ini putaran impeler diketahui hanya 1187 RPM pada kondisi engine 950 RPM, dimana dalam keadaan normalnya pada kondisi engine 950 RPM putaran impeler adalah 1400 RPM. Penurunan performance tersebut terjadi karena debit air yang dihasilkan cooling water pump mengalami penurunan, dan menyebabkan berkurangnya penyerapan panas pada auxiliary engine tersebut. Penurunan performa dapat diatasi dengan melakukan perbaikan dan penggantian komponen impeler yang rusak. Berdasarkan permasalahan diatas, dapat dianalisa dengan mengetahui penyebab menurunya performa yang terjadi pada cooling water pump tersebut, serta mengetahui berapa nilai penurunan performanya dengan melakukan perhitungan untuk mengetahui debit aliran, head serta daya yang dihasilkan cooling water pump saat mengalami kerusakan impeler. Kata Kunci : Cooling Water Pump, Rotari Vane Pump, Performa The engine cooling system is one system that is very important. When the cooling system is problematic, it could lead to interference with the performance of diesel engines. In diesel engine cooling system is supported by a cooling water pump, cooling water pump which is working to drain water toward cooler temperatures to help reduce the heat in the engine through the water that has flowed as the receiver medium heat. In the auxiliary engine 1 KM. Asia Sejahtera, cooling water pump type rotary vane pump is used type F7B Johnson pump. Cooling water pump on the auxiliary engine 1 doesn’t work with optimal performance caused by decreased performance on auxiliary engine cooling water pump 1 which suffered damage in the impeller. In this condition the impeller rotation is known only 1187 RPM at 950 RPM engine conditions, which in normal circumstances on the condition of the engine 950 RPM impeller rotation is 1400 RPM. The decline in performance was due to produced water discharge cooling water pump has decreased, and leads to reduced absorption of heat in the auxiliary engines. The decrease in performance can be overcome by performing repairs and replacement of damaged components impeller. Based on the above problems, it can be analyzed to determine the cause of the decline in performance that occurs in the cooling water pump, and to know how much the drop in performance by performing calculations to determine the flow rate, head and power are generated when cooling water pump impeller damage.
