Dalam dunia industri, proses fabrikasi selalu melibatkan pengerjaan logam seperti rolling. Proses pengerjaan tersebut dapat dibuat berdasarkan suhunya, seperti hot working, cold working dan warm working. Proses cold working (proses dingin) dan fairing (proses panas) adalah suatu metode pengerollan dengan proses yang berbeda. Namun kedua proses tersebut sering sekali digunakan dalam proses fabrikasi . Dampak dari proses tersebut dapat mempengaruhi nilai impact dan hardness dari pengujian tersebut. Hal ini didasarkan pada seringnya terjadi penurunan toughness atau ketangguhan pada proses pengerolan pembentukan lengkungan. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan dua proses pengerolan yaitu cold working dan fairing dengan variasi radius 500 o , 750 o , dan 1000 o untuk mengetahui pengaruh radius pengerolan. Material yang digunakan adalah low carbon steel. Jumlah test coupon adalah enam joint. Hasil dari penelitian ini, proses rolling pada pengerjaan dingin (cold working) dan pengerjaan panas (fairing) dapat mempengaruhi sifat mekanik seperti hardness dan impact. Pada proses cold working nilai kekerasan akan naik dan nilai ketangguhan akan turun. Sedangkan pada proses fairing nilai ketangguhan cenderung naik dan nilai kekerasan cenderung turun. Kata kunci : cold working, fairing, SMAW, carbon steel, hardness, impact In the industrial world , the fabrication process always involves metal work such as rolling . The construction process can be made based on the temperature , such as hot working , cold working and warm working . The process of cold working ( cold process ) and the fairing ( process heat ) is a method of rolling with a different process. However, both these processes have often been used in the fabrication process. The impact of the process can affect the value of impact and hardness of the test. This is based on the frequ ent reduction in toughness or resilience in the process of rolling forming an arch. In this research used two rolling process is cold rolling process working and the fairing with the variation of the radius 500 o , 750 o , and 1000 o to know the effect of the rolling radius . The material used is low carbon steel . Number of test coupon is six joint . Results from this research, the process of rolling the cold working (cold working) and hot work ( fairing ) can affect the mechanical properties such as hardness and impact . In the process of cold working hardness value will rise and the value of toughness will drop . While in the process fairing toughness values tent to rise and a hardness value tend to fall.
