ABSTRAK Salah satu dari motor induksi yang terdapat di PT IPMOMI unit 8 adalah motor induksi PA fan, yang terletak di dekat pulverizer dan berfungsi sebagai penghasil udara primer yang digunakan sebagai udara pengangkut serbuk batu bara dari pulverizer menuju burner untuk dibakar di boiler. Terjadinya pergantian motor dari teco westinghouse ke merk westinghouse ( rewinding ) tanpa diikuti pergantian air box cooling, air box cooling motor PA fan tetap bermerk teco westinghouse, menyebabkan terjadinya kenaikan rise temperature selama kurang lebih 6 bulan setelah pergantian motor, dan berakibat motor listrik tersebut terbakar pada winding. Penyebab terbakarnya motor listrik PA fan ini dapat dianalisa dengan cara mengumpulkan data – data pengecekan saat motor akan di running, seperti megger test, dan juga denga n cara mengambil data pada MCR ( Main Control Room ) untuk melihat track record arus dan rise temperature dan set point MPR ( Motor Protection Relay ) pada motor PA fan. Sedangkan gambar motor PA fan setelah terbakar bisa mengambil dari maintenance electrical unit 8. Motor listrik PA fan unit 8 diketahui bahwa mengalami terbakar yang disebabkan oleh rewinding motor yang jelek atau tidak seperti spesifikasi asli motor tersebut. Isolasi yang jelek tersebut dapat menyebabkan isolasi winding terkelupas dan menyebabkan motor PA fan terbakar pada suhu rise temperature yang masih dalam standar IEC Kata Kunci : Teco Westinghouse, Westinghouse, MCR, MPR, rewinding, IEC. ABSTRACT One of the induction motors in unit 8 of PT. IPMOMI is PA fan induction motor which is located near the pulverizer. It was functioned as primary air producer that used as coal ash transport air from pulverizer to burner for burning process in boiler. There’s motor switch from teco Westinghouse to Westinghouse without any changes of air box cooling. The air box cooling of PA fan motor induction still used a brand “teco Westinghouse” and it cause an increasing of temperature for about six months, after motor switch. So, it can cause the winding of those electrical motor were burnt. The causes of PA fan motor induction burning can be analized by collecting some checking datas when the motor will be running (such as:megger test) and also by taking the MCR (Main Control Room) data to see the current track record, temperature rise, and MPR (Motor Protection Relay) set point on PA fan motor. Meanwhile, the picture of PA fan itself was burnt, so we can get it from electrical maintenance of unit 8. PA fan electrical motor of unit 8 was recognized being burnt because a bad motor rewinding or doesn’t like its original spesificaton. A bad isolation can cause the winding isolation peel off and also cause the burning of PA fan motor at a standart temperature. Key word : Teco Westinghouse, Westinghouse, MCR, MPR, rewinding, IEC.
