Abstract

ABSTRAK PT.X merupakan salah satu contoh perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang industri fabrikasi, dimana dalam melakukan kegiatan produksinya menghasilkan partikel-partikel debu yang dapat mencemari lingkungan kerja sekitar dan mengganggu kesehatan pekerja. PT.X adalah perusahaan pengecoran yang dibagi menjadi beberapa tahap mulai dari tahap pettern shop, sand moulding, melting dan finishing. Pada area sand moulding di PT.X sangat besar kandungan partikel-partikel debu yang dihasilkan karena diarea tersebut salah satu bahan produksinya yaitu menggunakan pasir silika Dari data yang didapat pada tanggal 4 november 2014 dari hasil pengukuran kualitas udara di PT.X yaitu sebesar 18,28 mg/m³. Pengukuran tersebut dilakukan di area sand moulding atau bengkel pengecoran pada PT.X. Untuk menghindari bahaya gangguan atau kesehatan pekerja akibat paparan debu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengendalikan debu yang dihasilkan dari area sand moulding dengan melakukan perancangan dust collector system pada area sand moulding. Pada perancangan ini meliputi perancangan hood sebagai media penghisap debu, perencanaan duct sebagai media penyalur kontaminan yang telah dihisap oleh hood menuju ke bagfilter, perancangan bag filter sebagai filter debu silica, kemudian setelah di filter keluaran berupa udara bersih dan perhitungan daya motor penggerak blower, sebagai motor/daya penggerak. Area sand moulding memiliki panjang sebesar 7 meter, lebar 7 meter dan tinggi 10 meter dengan hood tipe canopy sebanyak 4 buah dan memiliki kecepatan udara sebesar 200 fpm atau 1,01 m/s. diameter yang direncanakan untuk duct cabang sebesar 0,28 meter dan duct utama sebesar 0,66 meter. Daya motor penggerak blower sentrifugal sebesar 11,22 hp. Ketebalan pipa diameter 660 meter = 18 SWG = 1,219 mm , diameter 1360 meter = 17 SWG = 1422 mm dan jenis material adalah tipe galvanize iron. Diameter bag 6 in = 0,15 meter , tinggi filter = 6 meter , jumlah bag = 140 buah dengan panjang = 14 bag , lebar = 10 bag , panjang bagfilter = 4 meter, lebar bagfilter = 2,4 meter, jarak pusat ke pusat bag pada panjang 260 meter, lebar = 220 meter. Sudut hooper 70 0 , tinggi hooper 2,5 meter. Area molding sand has a length of 7 meters, a width of 7 meters and a height of 10 meters with a hood-type canopy of 4 pieces and have air speed of 200 fpm or 1,01 m / s. planned for duct diameter of 0.28 meters and a branch of the main duct by 0.66 meters.
