Abstract

ABSTRAK Dalam proses pengerjaan pengelasan tidak menutup kemungkinan untuk terjadi cacat las, seperti porosity, slag inclusion, undercut atau cacat lain yang dapat di sebabkan karena penggunaan electrode yang tidak sesuai dengan base metal, electrode yang tidak di oven, parameter las yang tidak sesuai, dll. Untuk mengatasinya diperlukan perlakuan repair, apabila kesalahan dalam proses pengelasan dilakukan berulang kali maka perlu dilakukan multiple repair pada weld joint tersebut. Dari peneletian ini akan didapat informasi mengenai kuat tarik dan nilai kekerasan dari sambungan las material SA-335-P12 akibat multiple repair welding. Selain itu pengujian mikro dilakukan untuk mengetahui struktur mikro pada material yang mengalami multiple repair. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian yang sudah dilakukan, didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa dari ke 16 spesimen yang diuji seluruhnya memenuhi syarat keberterimaan untuk kuat tarik maksimum base metal. Pada pengujian bending tidak didapa tkan adanya open discontinuity dan defect didaerah HAZ dan weld metal. Dari pengujian kekerasan didapatkan pada variasi repair 1 dan 2 kali kekerasan mengalami peningkatan, sedangkan pada proses repair 3 kali kekerasan material mengalami penurunan. Hal ini didukung pula dengan banyaknya strutur pearlite yang ditemukan pada proses repair 1 dan 2 kali. Kata kunci : Multiple repair, kuat tarik, kekerasan , struktur mikro, SA 335 P12 ABSTRACT On the welding process there are so many possibilities for defect or open discontinuity to happen along weld joint, such as porosity, slag inclusion, undercut or many other defects that happen because of the wrong uses of electrode for base metal, wrong treatment for electrode, unsuitable parameter with applicable standard, etc. To fix those defects and discontinuities, some methods need to be applied such as repair process, if the failure of defect coming repeatedly so it needs multiple repairs to the defective weld joints. From this research will get some information about the tensile strength and harness value of SA 335 P12 weld joint that getting influence by multiple repairs of welding. Besides that the micro structure is needed to know the micro structure of the suspected material due to multiple repairs. Based on the research has been done, from the 16 th specimen being tested, all of them are qualify for maximum tensile strength acceptance criteria of base metal. On bending test turns out that there were no one defect was found di HAZ and weld metal area. From hardness test turns out that on the hardness of material after getting repaired once and twice is getting high, but on the material that getting repaired three times the hardness value is getting down. Thi s result is support by the pearlite structure that was found in material that getting repair for once and twice. Key words: Multiple repairs, toughness, hardness, micro structure, SA 335 P12
