ABSTRAK . PT. YMPI sebagai industri yang memproduksi alat musik tiup seperti saxophone, flute, clarinet, recorder, dan pianica.. Dalam proses pembuatannya banyak proses yang dilalui seperti pengkilapan material logam, penghalusan permukaan material, soldering, dan lain sebagainya. Dalam proses tersebut tentu akan menghasilkan debu kotor dan tidak sehat. Dan bilamana kondisi partikulat debu melebihi nilai ambang batas akan menyebabkan gangguan kesehatan, ketidaknyamanan dalam bekerja, dan mengurangi aktivitas kerja. Proses perancangan sistem dust collector ini dimulai dari observasi lapangan, permodelan dust collector existing debgan software Ansys, perhitungan dust collector baru, perancangan dibantu oleh software CAD (Computer Aided Design) untuk pembuatan gambar serta analisis daya hisap menggunakan software ansys. Lalu membandingkan dust collector lama dan dust collector baru. Hasil penelitian menghasilkan bahwa dust collector baru lebih memiliki keunggulan debit hisap dibandingkan dengan dust collector lama dengan penggantian diameter pipa dan desain konstruksi pipa. Jumlah debit yang dapat dihisap pada dust collector lama hanya mencapai 1,16965 m 3 /s sedangan dust collector baru sebesar 4,43996 m 3 /s. Kata kunci : CAD, dust collector, ansys ABSTRACT As an industry, PT. YMPI produces musical instruments such as saxophone, flute, clarinet, recorder, and pianica. In that manufacturing process such as buffing metal materials, refining the surface of materials, soldering, etc. In that process there will be dust produced and that is not good. And when the condition of dust particulate more than a certain threshold it will impact operator’s health, causing uncomfortable working, and less activity. Dust collector system design process through several phase. Starting from the observation, modelling of existing dust collector, calculation, design assisted by software CAD (Computer Aided Design) for image creation and analysis of velocity using Ansys software and then comparing the new dust collector againts the old one. The result of this research concludes that the new dust collector has as much higher suction rate compared with the old one by changing the pipe diameter and pipe construction design. The amount of dust collected by old collector only reach 1,16965 m3/s, will the new dust collected 4,43996 m3/s dust. Keywords : CAD, dust collector, ansys
