Abstract

The impacts resulting from crop damage are the decline in farmer productivity. Procedure to anticipate the spread of pest attacks by spraying conventional pesticide fluids using human power. This is less effective because farmers have to pay additional costs for plant pest spraying and make potentially hazard due to direct contamination of pesticide exposure to farmers. Based on the above problems the authors took the initiative to make a prototype of automatic pesticide spray robot for Chili plant based on Android by applying Fuzzy Logic method. Automatic pesticide sprayer using wall follower system, prototype robot will follow the base wall of the chili mound. The spraying mechanism based on the image processing from camera applications at Android devices to detect chili plants. The result of the research shows that the image processing of android camera application on the prototype of pesticide spray robot is able to work well at 07.00 until 15.00 WIB. The implementation of fuzzy logic method in the prototype of pesticide spray robot is able to work following the base wall of the mound with a success rate of 87.5%. The average travel time of the robot reaches 12.4 seconds with a track length of 4.5 meters. With the existence of this modern sprayer, is expected to facilitate farmers in pest eradication on pepper plants, and reduce the impact of the dangers of pesticides direct contamination. .
