ABSTRAK Saat ini perusahaan kontraktor PT. Duta Cipta Pakarperkasa sedang mengerjakan sebuah proyek pembuatan tanki air “ RAW WATER TANK ” untuk kebutuhan yang digunakan oleh PLN wilayah Sulawesi selatan. Dimana pada pembangunan bagian kulit tanki tersebut memerlukan kawat las untuk menyambungkan plat. Dalam pengerjaan bagian kulit tanki membutuhkan banyak kawat las yang dipakai. Maka akan timbul masalah dalam menentukan kebutuhan kawat las. Dengan melakukan simulasi menggunakan material yang sama dan kampuh las yang sama dengan dimensi yang diperkecil maka akan didapatkan hasil untuk memperkirakan kebutuhan kawat las yang akan dipakai pada pengerjaan kulit tanki. Dari hasil perhitungan aktual dan teori dengan CAD, didapatkan hasil 26 roll secara aktual dan 17 roll secara teori CAD, selisih sebanyak 9 roll kawat las. Dimana data yang digunakan untuk perhitungan secara aktual dan teori menggunakan pendekatan perhitungan yang sama antara dengan yang dipakai. Kata kunci : Perhitungan Kebutuhan Kawat Las. ABSTRACT The company contractor PT. Duta Cipta Pakarperkasa currently working on a project of the water tank "RAW WATER TANK" for the needs by PLN of the area used Southern Sulawesi. Where in the construction of the tank shell parts require welding wire to connect the plates. Working out the tank shell requires a lot of welding wire used. Then there will be problems in determining the need of welding wire. By performing simulation using the same material and the same seam welds with reduced dimensions that it will get the results to estimate the need for welding wire to be used in shell tank. From the results of the actual and theoretical calculation with CAD, showed actual need 26 roll and in theory CAD showed 17 roll, the difference of as much as 9 roll of welding wire.
