ABSTRAK Risiko kebakaran juga terdapat pada institusi perguruan tinggi dan dapat menyebabkan kerugian materi bahkan korban jiwa. Kesadaran terhadap keselamatan kebakaran dapat mencegah dan mengurangi dampak dari kebakaran. Penelitian ini mempelajari aspek-aspek yang mempengaruhi kesadaran terhadap keselamatan kebakaran pada komunitas di UniKL MICET, Malaysia. Komunitas tersebut terdiri dari mahasiswa (64.0%), staf akademik (19,9%) dan staf pendukung (16,1%) dengan total responden sebanyak 336 orang yang dipilih secara acak. Aspek jenis pekerjaan dan jumlah pelatihan kebakaran merupakan aspek yang akan dievaluasi pengaruhnya terhadap aspek-aspek kesadaran terhadap keselamatan kebakaran yaitu pengetahuan dasar tentang api dan bahaya kebakaran, pendeteksian kebakaran, pemadaman api dan evakuasi. Berdasarkan uji pengaruh menggunakan regressi logistik ordinal, didapatkan hasil bahwa jenis pekerjaan berpengaruh terhadap pengetahuan dasar tentang api dan bahaya kebakaran dan evakuasi, namun tidak berpengaruh terhadap pendeteksian kebakaran dan pemadaman api. Di sisi lain, jumlah pekerjaan ditemukan berpengaruh terhadap semua aspek kesadaran terhadap keselamatan kebakaran. Temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kesadaran terhadap keselamatan kebakaran dapat ditingkatkan melalui pelatihan kebakaran. Rekomendasi yang dibuat untuk meningkatkan aspek kesadaran terhadap keselamatan kebakaran adalah dengan menyelenggarakan pelatihan kebakaran dengan skenario kebakaran nyata yang yamg melibatkan seluruh anggota komunitas di UniKL MICET dan terintegrasi dengan pemadam kebakaran setempat. Fire safety awareness can prevent and reduce the impact of fire. This research studied aspects that affects the fire safety awareness among community at UniKL MICET, Malaysia. The community is consist of students (64.0%), academic staffs (19.9%) and supporting staffs (16.1%) with total respondents were 336 persons which were chosen randomly. The influence of the type of occupation and number of training to the aspects of fire safety awareness, which are basic knowledge of fire, detection of fire, extinguishment of fire and evacuation, will be evaluated. Based on the statistical test using regression logistic ordinal, the type of occupation affected the basic knowledge of fire and evacuation, however it did not affect detection of fire and extinguishment of fire. In the other hand, the number of training was found significantly affected all aspects of fire safety awareness. The findings of this research was showed that fire safety awareness can be enhanced with fire safety training. The survey results represent the fire safety awareness among UniKL MICET community that can be used to design the suitable fire drill to increase the fire safety awareness in UniKL MICET.
