Paiton II is a privately owned power generation companies under PT. Jawa Power yang located in Paiton Probolinggo. The power plant has 2 boiler units are units 5 and 6 which respectively produce electrical energy by 610 MW. The power plant uses coal as raw material combustion in boiler furnace. The purpose of this paper is to utilize steam of inert pipelines steam used to heat the air from PA Fan with the design of compact heat exchanger fin and tube type that coal as a fuel that was sent with the air more quickly sent to the furnace boiler. The methodology used in this thesis include optimizing steam from steam inert pathway that was originally used as flashing when pulverizer experiencing trip sourced from superheater Divison Panel, then steam is used as the hot fluid in the heat exchanger. The data is taken from an operating power company that is in the control room PT Jawa Power as object of study. Heat exchanger design calculation methods ?TLMTD . After obtaining the dimensions corresponding to the desired heat, we conducted performance analysis of a value effectiveness. Results obtained from the settlement of this case study is the dimension of compact heat exchanger which has a corresponding specification, with a fin length of 2 meters, 1 meters wide fin and tube length of 2 meters. The results of the performance analysis (effectiveness) against load variations, namely the higher the load, the value is also higher effectiveness.
