ANALISYS OF COMPARISON BETWEEN SACP AND ICCP AS CATHODIC PROTECTION FOR PGDP UNDERGROUND TRUNKLINE

Abstrak

PGDP (Paku Gajah Development Project) adalah satu proyek pembangunan fasilitas pemurnian gas. Dalam proyek ini ada beberapa trunkline yang akan dibangun. Salah satu trunkline yang akan dibangun di proyek ini memiliki panjang 23 km, menghubungkan SPG Merbau (existing) dan SPG Paku Gajah (new). Trunkline akan dibangun di bawah tanah dan dilindungi dengan coating dan proteksi katodik. Tetapi, terdapat perbedaan antara metode proteksi katodik yang digagas oleh owner?s consultant dan main contractor. Berdasarkan feed data dari owner?s consultant, dapat dilakukan perbandingan di antara dua metode proteksi katodik yaitu SACP dan ICCP guna mengetahui metode manakah yang lebih efisien. Langkah pertama adalah dengan menghitung kebutuhan teknis, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan menghitung kebutuhan ekonomisnya. Selanjutnya, menganalisa kebutuhan teknis dan ekonomisnya dan terakhir adalah membandingkan hasil


Abstract

PGDP (Paku Gajah Development Project) is a natural gas refinery development project. There are 5 sites in this project. Those sites consist of 3 existing sites and 2 new sites. In this project, these sites will be connected by some trunklines to improve the performance of the facilities in these sites better than before. One of trunkline will be designed 23 km, connected SPG Merbau to SPG Paku Gajah. This trunkline will be constructed underground and protected by coating and cathodic protection. But, there is a difference between cathodic protection method which is set by owner?s consultant and method set by main contractor. According to the feed data from owner?s consultant, comparison between these two method to find which one is more efficient, can be done. First step is calculate the technical needs, then calculate the economical needs. Next step is analyze the technical and economical needs and the last is compare the result of the analisys. The calculation shows that the result is SACP need 738 sets of magnesium anode and 12 set of test station box, so the investment cost of this method is 1,102 billion rupiahs. In the other hand, ICCP need 8 sets of titanium MMO anode, 1 set of rectifier transfomator, 1 junction box, and 12 sets test station box, 1500 meters power cable connecting anodes to positive junction box, and 200 meters power cable connecting positive junction box to rectifier transformator, so the invesment cost needed is 522,08 million rupiahs. Cathodic protection using ICCP method is more efficient to be used for underground trunkline PGDP.
