Abstract

Lifting appliance is a tool for removal, especially in the pressure vessel to be lifted from the factory to the trailer when it is sent. Components of lifting appliance that spreader bars, slings, shackles and padeye. The component has a big influence and should be designed and well designed. This is done so that no fatal occupational accidents are good for workers, the pressure vessel is lifted, lift aircraft or its lifting appliance. Because of such accidents are very common and cause harm to many parties. Lifting appliance component calculation performed to determine the dimensions of the components that will be used, then calculated the allowable stress also occurs. By way of manual calculations, but manual calculation will not be accurate. Therefore, an analysis conducted by mengunakkan software based on Finite Element Method (FEM). To be visible strain distribution occurring evenly, not only measured by one point only. Of Finite Element Method (FEM) is also on the structure and components are in use are safe or not. From this thesis showed the force exerted on the sling I amounted to 59132.97 N with a broken load 40 900 and a diameter of 28.4 mm. Sling II with a force of 68280.87 N fracture load 54,500 kg and a diameter of 32.8 mm. While sling III force acting at 236,531.89 N with a broken load 40 900 kg with added 4 pulley diameter of 800 mm, 28.4 mm diameter sling. The voltage that occurs at the spreader bar of 21.2 MPa to 83.3 MPa allowable stress and when calculated by FEM of 35.45 MPa. Voltage permission to padeye amounted to 225 Mpa. On the upper padeye voltage generated by the calculation of 68.5 MPa while with FEM of 23.96 MPa. Padeye bottom on manual calculations obtained 75.2 Mpa, the FEM 30.09 MPa.
