DESIGN LOCAL EXHAUST VENTILATION AT WORKSHOP PART PAINTING PT. INDUSTRI KERETA API (PERSERO)

Abstrak

PT. Industri Kereta Api (Persero) merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang manufaktur sarana kereta api dan transportasi yang berlokasi di Madiun Jawa Timur. Proses produksi di PT. INKA (Persero) dilakukan secara bertahap oleh bagian-bagian produksi di masing-masing workshop, salah satunya workshop part painting yang didalamnya terdapat 3 proses diantaranya pengecatan dasar, penghalusan pendempulan, dan pengecatan akhir. Workshop tersebut terdapat dampak negatif diakibatkan dari proses-proses di dalamnya mengenai lingkungan kerja fisik terutama berdampak pada kualitas udara. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam rangka mengukur kondisi kualitas udara dengan mengukur kadar partikulat. Kemudian dilakukan evaluasi kualitas udara dengan membandingkan hasil pengukuran dengan NAB Permenakertrans No. PER.13/MEN/X/2011. Selanjutnya dilakukan perancangan local exhaust ventilation (LEV) sesuai dengan kondisi eksisting area kerja di workshop part painting. Berdasarkan hasil pengukuran kadar partikulat yang dilakukan di workshop part painting, didapatkan hasil di bagian pengecatan dasar 5,712 mg/m3, bagian penghalusan pendempulan 4,831 mg/m3, dan bagian pengecatan akhir 5,788 mg/m3, sedangkan NAB kadar partikulat menurut Permenakertrans NO. PER.13/MEN/X/2011 adalah 2 mg/m3. Jadi kadar paparan partikulat di dalam workshop part painting telah melebihi NAB. Perancangan sistem LEV dilakukan pada tiap proses yakni terdapat tiga sistem LEV. Dari hasil perancangan dan perhitungan didapatkan pada bagian pengecatan dasar hood dipilih jenis booth, diameter duct 0,508 m, cyclone separator dengan diameter 1,016 m, tinggi keseluruhan 9 m, dengan daya fan sebesar 6,168 kW, sedangkan pada bagian penghalusan pendempulan hood dipilih jenis flanged slot, diameter duct 0,254 m, cyclone separator dengan diameter 0,508 m, tinggi keseluruhan 5 m, dengan daya fan sebesar 0,11 kW, dan pada bagian pengecatan akhir hood dipilih jenis booth, diameter duct 0,508 m, cyclone separator dengan ukuran diameter 1,016 m, tinggi keseluruhan 9 m, dengan daya fan sebesar 6 kW. Abstract

PT. Industri Kereta Api (Persero) is a manufacture company on train property and transportation that located on Madiun, East Java. Production process in PT. INKA (Persero) was doing in separated steps by production section in their own workshop. In workshop part painting there are 3 process such as basic painting, smoothing, and finishing painting. Negative impact of that processes is bad air quality on the work place. This research will measure air quality condition by measuring particulate condition. Then air quality evaluation can be achieved by comparing measure result with the limit value of Permenakertrans No. PER.13/MEN/X/2011. After that, design of local exhaust ventilation (LEV) as the existing condition on workshop part painting can be made. Based on the result of particulate level's measure in workshop part painting, the value on basic painting is 5,712 mg/m3, smoothing is 4,831 mg/m3, and finishing painting 5,788 mg/m3, meanwhile the limit value of Permenakertrans No. PER.13/MEN/X/2011 is 2 mg/m3. It prove that particulate level's exposure in workshop part painting has surpassed limit value. LEV system is be designed on every process which result 3 system of LEV. Based on the result of design and calculation, booth was choosing as the hood on basic painting, diameter of the duct is 0,508 m, diameter of cyclone separator is 1,016 m, with the height of 9 m and 6,168 kW of fan's power. Meanwhile hood on smoothing use flanged slot, diameter of duct is 0,254 m, diameter of cyclone separator is 0,508, with the height of 5 m, and 0,11 kW of fan's power. The last, hood on finishing painting use booth, diameter of duct is 0,508 m, diameter of cyclone separator is 1,016 m, with the height of 9 m, and 6 kW of fan's power.
