Abstrak

ABSTRAK Water separator merupakan alat pemisah fluida yang memiliki fungsi sangat penting dalam proses pemisahan air yang terdapat pada bahan bakar biodiesel B10. Bahan bakar biodiesel yang memiliki kadar air lebih tinggi dibanding dengan bahan bakar solar sebaiknya mendapatkan perlakuan khusus agar kandungan airnya dapat dikurangi. Percobaan dilakukan dengan memvariasikan 4 water separator system yakni single system, paralel system, series system dan combine system kemudian dibandingkan dengan perlakuan bahan bakar yang tanpa menggunakan water separator. Dari hasil percobaan diperoleh kadar air tanpa menggunakan water separator sebesar 362 ppm sedangkan saat menggunakan single system terjadi penurunan kadar air sebesar 203 ppm, paralel system sebesar 214 ppm, series system 238 ppm, combine system 226 ppm. Pada range optimum yakni putaran mesin 1350 rpm terjadi kenaikan konsumsi bahan bakar. Pada single system kenaikan konsumsi bahan bakar sebesar 0,000248 gr/Kwh, paralel system naik sebesar 0,009945 gr/Kwh, series system naik sebesar 0,000746 gr/Kwh, combine system naik sebesar 0,001602 gr/Kwh. Abstract

ABSTRAK Water separator is a fluid separator has a very important function in the process of separating water contained in B10 biodiesel fuel. Biodiesel fuel has a higher water content compared with diesel fuel its should be get special treatment so that the water content can be reduce. The experiments were conducted by varying four the water separator system is single system, paralel system, series system and combine system. Then be compared with the treatment of fuel without using a water separator. The result of experimental obtained water content without using a water separator at 362 ppm whereas when using a single system decreased water content of 203 ppm, a paralel system of 214 ppm, a series system of 238 ppm and the combine system of 226 ppm. The optimum range of the engine is 1350 rpm an increase in fuel consumption. On a single system increase in fuel consumption by 0,000248 gr/Kwh, a paralel system rose by 0,009945 gr/Kwh, a series system rose by 0,000746 gr/Kwh and then the combine system rose by 0,001602 gr/Kwh.
