Abstract

BIMA 333 is a tugboat owned by PT. Pelindo Marine Service which operates more intensively with 14 hours per day average working hours than another tug boat that work only 9 hours per day. With this intensity, the problem that facing now is the decrease of sea water flow pressure from 0.15 Mpa to 0.12 & increases of sea water temperature from 32 ºC to 35 ºC on the discharge side of sea water cooling pump in rpm 600 right side main engine during a sea trial in June 2017. The analysis focused on the decline of pressure at the discharge side of the pump and the increasing of sea water cooling temperature leading to the intercooler at RPM 600 of the right side main engine at sea trial. The analysis is a comparison of standard data calculations before the overhaul with data during sea trial and determination of the achievement of air cooling needs from the turbocharger to engine combustion chamber. In this final project, the writer calculate the head loss, pump head total, pump power, Q calority requirements & ΔT. The calculation results prove the decrease of pump power by 7% (percentage error pump power). The decrease in total pump head value from 42.1881 m to 39.27676 m. The rate of heat transfer in the right side main engine intercooler from 796576.58 J / s decreases to 443262,953 J / s. Keywords: power, pressure, Rpm 600, sea water cooling pump, temperature
