ABSTRAK Menurut kamus besar bahasa Indonesia (1997) modifikasi kapal merupakan suatu perubahan dalam penyusunan rencana atau perubahan terhadap sesuatu dalam konsep awal. Modifikasi adalah jalan alternative terbaik untuk merubah fungsi kapal atau mengfungsikan kembali kapal yang tidak terpakai. Salah satu pengerjaan modifikasi dilakukan oleh PT.Adiluhung SaranaSegara Indonesia atas keinginan owner kapal Landing Craft Tank yang tidak digunakan menjadi kapal Livestock Carrier. Dalam modifikasi kapal, hal yang perlu diperhatikan adalah terjadinya perubahan displacement kapal akibat adanya perubahan konstruksi (lightweight) maupun berat bobot mati (deadweight). Dengan diketahuinya perubahan displacement maka akan diketahui perubahan sarat yang terjadi. Proses modifikasi dilakukan dengan cara memaksimalkan keperluan kapal Livestock Carrier berdasarkan General Arrangement kapal Landing Craft Tank dengan memaksimalkan geladak yang dapat digunakan sebagai ruang muat berdasarkan perencanaan kebutuhan hewan ternak seperti kebutuhan pakan, minum, dan kebutuhan udara. Hal ini akan didapatkan hasil deadweight kapal livestock carrier. Kemudian perubahan yang terjadi akan memerlukan konstruksi baru yang mendukung fungsi kapal livestock carrier, perhitungan konstruksi menggunakan standar berdasarkan BKI Vol II Tahun 2006. Dan dari konstruksi yang berubah didapatkan lightweight livestock carrier. Adanya perubahan DWT dan LWT dilakukan perhitungan koreksi displacement kapal livestock carrier yang dapat mempengaruhi perubahan tinggi geladak lambung timbul ( freeboard ) pada persyaratan International Load Lines Conversation 1966. Hasil modifikasi kapal Landing Craft Tank menjadi Livestock Carrier terdapat perubahan geladak dan double bottom dihasilkan general arrangement dengan deadweight tambahan 410,8 Ton dan lightweight tambahan 469,33 Ton. Displacement awal Landing Craft Tank 2414,92 Ton dengan berat konstruksi 914,92 dan deadweight 1500 . Kemudian dengan perhitungan displacement didapatkan displacement Livestock Carrier sebesar 2645,05 Ton sehingga penambahan displacement sebesar 230,13 Ton. Penambahan displacment menyebabkan kenaikan sarat sebesar 175 mm sehingga nilai freeboard actual menjadi 1025 mm dan ketentuan dari International Load Lines Conversation 1966 minimum freeboard sebesar 650,08 mm. Dikarenakan freeboard actual lebih besar dari minimum freeboard ILLC’66 maka tinggi geladak lambung timbul livestock carrier dapat memenuhi persyaratan. ABSTRACT According to the great dictionary of the language of Indonesia (1997) a modification of the ship is a change in the preparation of the plan or change to something in the initial concept. The best alternative is the path modification to change the function of the vessel or functioning back unused vessels. One of the modification work conducted by PT. Their SaranaSegara Indonesia over the desire of owner ship Landing Craft tanks not in use being Livestock Carrier ships. In a modification to the ship, the thing to note is the occurrence of change of construction (lightweight) and the weight of dead weight (deadweight). With the known displacement changes it will be note-laden changes that occur. The process of modification done by maximizing ship Livestock Carrier purposes on General Arrangement ship Landing Craft Landing Craft Tanks with maximizing the deck can be used as a loading space based on the needs of the livestock feed needs, drink, and air needs. This will be the result of the vessel deadweight livestock carrier. Later changes will require new construction that supports the function of the vessel livestock carrier, construction computations using standard based on BKI Vol II in 2006. And construction of the change it brings lightweight livestock carrier. Any changes done calculations and DWT LWT displacement correction ship livestock carrier that can affect the deck high waterline (freeboard) on the requirements of the International Load Lines 1966 Conversation. The result of the modification of the Landing Craft Tank vessel to Livestock Carrier contained a change of deck and double bottom generated general arrangement with additional deadweight of 410,8 Ton and additional lightweight 469,33 Ton. Initial Displacement Landing Craft Tank 2414.92 Ton with construction weight 914.92 and deadweight 1500. Then with displacement calculation, Livestock Carrier displacement is 2645,05 Ton so the addition of displacement is 230,13 Ton. The addition of displacment caused a 175 mm load increase so the actual freeboard value to 1025 mm and the terms of the International Load Lines Conversation 1966 minimum freeboard of 650.08 mm. Because the actual freeboard is larger than the ILLC'66 minimum freeboard then the height of the gastric deck arises livestock carrier can meet the requirements.
