Saat ini penyambungan untuk material yang berbeda jenis ini masih jarang. Hal ini dilihat oleh peneliti sebagai sebuah peluang untuk melakukan penelitian yang berfungsi untuk mengetahui hal-hal penting yang berhubungan dengan pengelasan dissimilar ini. Terutama untuk pengelasan dengan menggunakan material super duplex stainless steel yang digabungkan dengan A106. Untuk melakukan penelitian ini, peneliti akan menggunakan dua jenis elektroda yang berbeda yaitu jenis Zeron 100X dan ER2209 . Hal ini didasarkan dari kedua jenis elektroda yang mempunyai fungsi yang berbeda, dimana untuk jenis Zeron 100X memang digunakan untuk penyambungan super duplex stainless steel, sedangkan ER2209 merupakan elektroda yang digunakan untuk pengelasan duplex stainless steel. Melalui penelitian ini, peneliti mengharapkan adanya hasil yang menunjukkan bahwa antar tiap material yang disambungkan dengan jenis elektroda tersebut juga menghasilkan hasil yang berbeda pula baik dari segi ketahanan korosi galvanis,nilai hardness serta struktur mikronya. Thiss issue was seen by researcher as chance to do research which is useful to know important thing that have relationship with dissimilar welding. Especially for welding with super duplex stainless steel material that joined with A106. To do this research, researcher using two type electrode that is different it’s zeron 100x & ER2209. This is based from two type of electrode that have different function, which is zeron 100x type it’s using for welding super duplex stainless steel material, meanwhile ER2209 it’s electrode that used for welding duplex stainless steel. The result of the research that researcher do there are different in corrosion rate that happen in ER2209 electrode & zeron 100x electrode each of them have point in the amount of 0.402577 mmpy & 0,335191 mmpy using immersion method test. From the result the conclusion of corrosion rate that happen in both of electrode didn’t have too much different & still in rating of corrosion good.
