Abstract

ABSTRAK Metering Regulating Station (M/RS) merupakan stasiun yang berfungsi untuk melakukan aktifitas pengukuran laju alir gas (metering) dan mengatur tekanan gas (regulating). Instrument penting yang terpasang pada regulating station adalah Monitor/ Active Regulator (M/A regulator). Penggunaan Monitor/ Active Regulator (M/A regulator) pada sistem sekarang ini sudah tidak efisien, mengingat sudah langkanya spare part untuk Monitor/ Active Regulator ( M/A regulator ) dan harganya yang relatif mahal serta untuk memudahkan proses maintenance maka dilakukan upgrading system terhadap regulating station. Oleh karena itu, Monitor regulator (RM-8”-A/B-WRU) dan Active regulator (RA-8”-A/B-WRU) akan diganti dengan Pressure Control Valve (PCV). Pada analisa ini akan dihitung total flowrate serta pressure drop saat kondisi actual, normal, dan worst pada stream A dan stream B. Adanya instrument baru ini akan dianalisa pula allowable stress pada sistem. Metode yang digunakan untuk menyelesaikan tugas akhir ini menggunakan perhitungan manual dan software serta perhitungan allowable stress akan dilakukan secara manual dengan mengacu pada standart ASME B31.8 “Gas Transmission and Distribution Piping System”. Hasil dari perhitungan bahwa nilai flowrate (Qactual) pada new design lebih rendah dibandingan dengan flowrate (Qactual) old design. Besar nilai flowrate 11,78 ft 3 /s, 29,57 ft 3 /s, dan 39,58 ft 3 /s pada saat kondisi actual, normal, dan worst new design. Untuk old design, besar nilai flowrate 13,01 ft 3 /s, 32,58 ft 3 /s, dan 43,52 ft 3 /s pada saat kondisi actual, normal, dan worst new design. Sedangkan untuk nilai pressure drop, new design memiliki nilai pressure drop yang lebih rendah juga dibandingkan dengan old design. Besar selisih nilai pressure drop new antara perhitungan manual dan software yaitu 0,007 psi/10ft, 0,076 psi/10ft, dan 0,348 psi/10ft pada kondisi actual,normal,dan worst. Meskipun terdapat sedikit selisih namun keduanya masih tetap dalam batasan pressure drop yang di ijinkan pada design basic yang diberikan oleh client. ABSTRACT Regulating metering station (M/RS) is a station that serves to perform activities of gas flow rate measurement (metering) and set the gas pressure (regulating). Important instrument mounted on regulating station is Monitor / Active Regulator (M/A regulator). Usage Monitor/Active Regulator (M/A regulator) in the present system is not efficient, given the already scarcity of spare parts for Monitor / Active Regulator (M/A regulator) and the relatively high prices as well as to facilitate the maintenance process is carried upgrading the system to regulating station. Therefore, the regulator Monitor (RM-8 "-A / B-WRU) and Active regulator (RA-8" -A / B-WRU) will be replaced with the Pressure Control Valve (PCV). In this analysis, will calculate the total flowrate and pressure drop when the actual conditions, normal, and worst on stream A and stream B. The existence of this new instrument will be analyzed also allowable stress on the system. The method used to complete this final task using manual calculations and software as well as the calculation of allowable stress will be done manually by referring to the standard ASME B31.8 "Gas Transmission and Distribution Piping System" The results of the calculations that the value flowrate (Qactual) on the new design is lower compared to the flowrate (Qactual) old design. The value of flowrate is 11.78 ft 3 /s, 29.57 ft 3 /s and 39.58 ft 3 /s at the time of actual conditions, normal and worst new design. For the old design, the value of flowrate is 13.01 ft 3 /s, 32.58 ft 3 /s and 43.52 ft 3 /s at actual conditions, normal and worst for new design. As for the value of pressure drop, the new design has a value lower pressure drop was also compared with the old design. the difference in value between the new pressure drop calculation manuals and software is 0,007 psi/10ft, 0.076 psi/10ft, and 0,348 psi/10ft on actual conditions, normal, and the worst.
