ABSTRAK Penetran tes merupakan salah satu jenis NDT (Non Destructive Test) yang relatif mudah dan cepat pelaksanaannya serta murah biayanya dibandingkan dengan uji NDT yang lain. Pengujian ini adalah cara yang paling peka untuk menentukan adanya cacat halus pada permukaan seperti retak, lubang halus atau kebocoran. Pada dasarnya pengujian ini menggunakan prinsip kapilaritas sebagai cara kerjanya. Pengujian ini dilakukan pada material baja dengan sambungan las SMAW dimana perlakuan pengujian tetap sama seperti prosedur pengujian penetran tes, namun pada saat pengaplikasian penetrant dwel timenya akan akan dilakukan dengan 4 macam waktu yang berbeda-beda. Pertama pengujian dengan dwell time penetran 1 menit, kedua pengujian dengan dwell time penetran 2,5 menit, ketiga pengujian dengan dwell time penetran 5 menit, dan ke empat pengujian dengan dwell time penetran 10 menit. Sedangkan dwell time developer yang digunakan yaitu waktu 5 menit. Berdasarkan pengujian penetran tesyang telah dilakukan, diketahui bahwa dwell time penetrant mempunyai pengaruh yang besar terhadap ketajaman hasil cacat pada pengujian penetrant. Karena semakin dalam cacat yang ada pada permukaan material uji maka membutuhkan waktu yang cukup lama juga agar penetran dapat meresap secara sempurna. Kata kunci :Uji tanpa merusak,penetran tes,suhu panas,dwell time penetran ANALYSIS ON EFFECT DWEL TIME PENETRANT OF TEMPERATURE 100 ° C TO SHARPNESS RESULTS OF DEFECTS IN WELDING WITH TEST PENETRANT ABSTRACT Penetrant testing is one type of NDT (Non Destructive Test) which is relatively easy and fast implementation, and less costly compared to other NDT test. This test is the most sensitive way to determine the presence of defects such as cracks on the surface smooth, smooth holes or leaks. Basically this test using the principle of capillary action as the way it works. Testing was conducted on a steel material with SMAW welding joint where testing remains the same treatment as penetrant testing procedure test, but at the time of application of penetrant dwel timenya will be carried out with 4 kinds of different times. The first tests with penetrant dwell time of 1 minute, second penetrant testing with a dwell time of 2.5 minutes, the third testing with penetrant dwell time 5 minutes, and the fourth penetrant testing with a 10 minute dwell time. While the developer dwell time that is used is within 5 minutes. Based on the test penetrant testing that has been done, it is known that the penetrant dwell time has a great influence on the sharpness of the defects in penetrant testing. Because the more defects that exist on the surface of the test material requires considerable time as well so that might seep completely penetrant.
