Abstract

ABSTRAK Baja menjadi material yang sering digunakan dalam bidang kontruksi. Karena baja memiliki sifat yang kuat, ulet atau tidak getas, tidak mudah korosi dan memilki sifat elastisitas yang cukup tinggi. Dalam proses pengerjaan kontruksi baja seperti sambungan pipa pastinya tidak terlepas dari proses inspeksi pengelasan. Proses inspeks dari pengelasan merupakan bagian penting dalam pengerjaan proyek kontruksi. Inspeksi menggunakan metode Radiografi Test ( RT ) yang merupakan proses inspeksi yang tergolong NDT ( Non Destructive Test) pengujian yang tanpa merusak material. Tugas akhir ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui cacat pengelasan pada pipa 4 inch ss-400 carbon steel menggunakan metode Radiografi Test. Prosedur pengelasan menggunakan ASME section V. Setelah dilakukan Radiografi Test menganalisa hasil cacat pada las pipa 4 inch ss-400 carbon steel menurut standart dari ASME section IX, serta cara melakukan repair sambungan pengelasan berdasarkan ASME section IX. Bedasarkan hasil pengujan Radiografi Test pada sambungan pengelasan pipa 4 inch ss-400 carbon steel terdapat cacat. Dari hasil film radiografi segmen 0-7, 7-14 dan 14-0 mempunyai indikasi Incomplete Penetration dengan panjang indikasi 50 mm, 30 mm dan 35 mm karena panjang indikasi melebihi batas yang ditentukan oleh ASME section IX maka sambungan pengelasan perlu dilakukan repair. Because steel has properties that strong, ductile or brittle, it is not easy to corrosion and have the properties of elasticity is high enough. In the process of construction such as steel pipe joints certainly can not be separated from the process of welding inspection. The inspection process at the welding is an important part in the execution of construction projects. Inspection methods Test Radiography (RT) which is an inspection process that pertained NDT (Non Destructive Test) testing without damaging material.Inspeksi using Test Radiography (RT) which is an inspection process that pertained NDT (Non Destructive Test) testing without damage material. This final project aims to determine welding defects in the pipe 4 inch ss-400 carbon steel using methods Radiografi Test. After analyzing the results of defects Radiography Test pad pedestal 4 inch pipe ss-400 carbon steel according to the standards of the ASME section IX, as well as how to do repair welding connection by ASME section IX. Based on the results of Pengujan Radiography Test on the connection pipe welding ss-400 4-inch carbon steel are disabled. From the results of radiographic film segments 0-7, 7-14 and 14-0 have a length indication Incomplete Penetration with indications of 50 mm, 30 mm and 35 mm for the length indication exceeds the limit specified by ASME section IX of the welding connection is necessary to repair.
