Abstract

Once in 6 month, carbide residu is taken by third side. But, in reality there are still a heap of carbide residu. According to PP No. 101 Tahun 2014, carbide residu classified to dangerous and toxic waste, it must be proceed to make the waste safe for the environment. Therefore, writer do this research to harness carbide residue as a subtitution of cement on lightweight concrete. The purposes of this research are to identifying heavy metals composition in carbide residu, to knows the influence of carbide residu adding in compressive strength, density, setting time, aspecs, and to knows the result of TCLP test of lightweight concrete. The activity of this research such as material test, TCLP test, setting time test, FAS trial, mix design calculation, making of lightweight concrete, curing, compressive strength test, density calibration. The percentage of carbie residu as subtition material of cements are 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15% using DOE method. The result of this research in aspec of compressive strength tests are 10,44 Mpa for the normal lightweight concrete by the compressive strength plan 10 Mpa. For 5%, 10% and 15% subtitution of carbide residu, the results for the compressive strength are 10,05 Mpa; 8,53 Mpa; 6,7 Mpa. Setting time for subtitution of carbide residue 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% are 150 minutes; 105 minutes; 90 minutes; 90 minutes. From density aspec, all product fulfill the requirement under 1850 kg/ m 3 . Final TCLP test declare that the lightweight concrete is safe to environment. Keyword : Carbide residu, Lightweight concrete, Compressive strength test, TCLP test
