Abstract

In the process of generating electrical energy, all elements that are operated must be guaranteed reliability, continuity of service, expansion, flexibility, environmental and economic conditions. One of the important elements of the generator is the transformer. The transformer is the main component in the electric power distribution system. As the amount of loading increases, the transformer will experience an unknown temperature increase. The increase in transformer temperature can also be affected by temperature conditions in the transformer room. If the room temperature of the transformer is too high, the transformer will overheat and cause an explosion. From research problems to the design of monitoring and control systems based on the Internet of Things (IoT). This system is able to monitor and control the ambient air temperature and in the transformer substation room according to the specified Set Point and can monitor remotely using the Internet of Things. The test uses a transformer simulator whose temperature can be raised for web communication tests. The test results of the temperature control and monitoring system of transformer substations were carried out 10 times for sending data. From all tests, data can be sent with an average delivery time of 1.3 seconds. This temperature monitoring system can be done for 24 hours via the web.
