Abstract

ABSTRAK Boiler adalah suatu perangkat mesin yang berfungsi untuk mengubah air menjadi uap. Proses perubahan air menjadi uap terjadi dengan memanaskan air yang berada didalam pipa-pipa atau tube dengan memanfaatkan panas dari hasil pembakaran bahan bakar. Reheater tube pada boiler salah satunya menggunakan material carbon low alloy steel 2 ¼ Cr – 1 Mo. Dalam pembuatan Boiler selalu menemui proses repair pengelasan dengan jumlah tidak menentu sehingga mempengaruhi mechanical properties suatu material. Untuk mengetahui pengaruh repair terhadap mechanical properties dilakukan pengujian hardness test, Tensile Test, dan metalography test. Dengan 5 variabel yaitu Specimen no repair, 2x repair, 2x repair with PWHT, 3x repair dan 3x repair with PWHT. Hasilnya Specimen yang diberi perlakuan panas PWHT mempunyai sifat yang recommended sedangkan Specimen yang mengalami repair terjadi overhardness pada daerah HAZ. Untuk struktur mikronya Specimen yang mengalami perlakuan panas PWHT ukuran butir menjadi lebih besar dibanding tanpa PWHT sehingga menyebabkan kekerasannya menurun. Kata kunci : Boiler, PWHT (Post Weld Heat Treatment), Hardness test, Tensile dan Metalography test. ABSTRACT The boiler is a machine device that serves to convert water into steam. The process of change water into steam occurs by heating the water that is inside pipes or tubes by making use of the heat from the burning fuel. Reheater boiler tube on one of them using a low carbon alloy steel material 2 ¼ Cr - 1 Mo In the manufacture of boilers always find the welding repair process with a number of erratic thus affecting the mechanical properties of a material. To determine the effect repair of the mechanical properties of hardness testing test, Tensile Test, and metalography test. With Specimen 5 variables: no repair, 2x repair, 2x repair with PWHT, 3x repair and 3x repair with PWHT. The result is heat-treated Specimens PWHT has recommended properties Specimen while experiencing overhardness repair occurs in the HAZ area. For the Microstructure of Specimens that undergo heat treatment PWHT grain size becomes larger than without PWHT causing hardness so as to decrease.
