Abstract

ABSTRAK Knock out drum merupakan suatu alat yang digunakan untuk memisahkan fasa uap, gas dengan cairan atau partikel padat yang terlarut dalam air. Dalam membangun sebuah Knock out drum digunakan material dengan specialis pressure steel yang mempunyai sifat tangguh pada low temperatur yakni baja SA-516 grade 70. Dalam pembuatan knock out drum biasanya dilakukan proses PWHT (Post Weld Heat Treatment) untuk menghasilkan sifat mekanik yang diinginkan. Dalam proses PWHT nilai holding time dan temperature holding sangat diperhatikan untuk mendapatkan hasil yang maksimal. Pada penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengatahui perbedaan nilai mekanik antara material yang mendapat perlakuan PWHT dengan variasi variabel nilai holding time 15, 30, dan 60 menit serta variasi variable holding temperature 5 C d n 6 C e h d p m e i l ng id k mend p pe l k n H ng el nj n dilakukan pengujian meliputi pengujian tensile, metalography test, dan hardness test. Hasil pengujian material yang mendapat perlakuan PWHT mempunyai nilai kekerasan yang lebih rendah dibandingkan material yang tidak mendapatkan perlakuan PWHT namun perbedaan tidak telalu besar, walaupun untuk nilai kuat tarik semua material masih masuk dalam acceptance criteria. untuk variasi nilai holding time dan holding temperature nilai kekerasan paling rendah diperoleh pada variasi holding time 60 menit dan variasi holdi ng empe e 6 C Kata kunci : knock out drum, PWHT (Post Weld Heat Treatment), holding time, holding temperature, metalography test, hardness test ABSTRACT Knock out drum is an instrument that is used to separate the vapor phase, liquid or gas with solid particles dissolved in water. In building a Knock out drum used by specialists pressure steel material having a resilient properties at low temperature of the steel SA-516 grade 70. In making the knockout drum is usually done PWHT process (Post Weld Heat Treatment) to produce the desired mechanical properties. In the process of PWHT value of holding time and holding temperature is of considerable concern to obtain maximum results. In this study aims to know the difference between the value of the mechanical material treated with a variety of variable value PWHT holding time 15, 30, and 60 minutes as well as variations in the holding variable temperature 500 C and 600 C of the untreated material PWHT that fur ther testing covers tensile testing, metalo graphy test, and hardness test. From the results of the testing materials that are subjected to PWHT has a lower hardness values than material which does not get treatment PWHT, although for all the material ten sile strength values are still included in the acceptance criteria. to variations in the value of holding time and holding temperature lowest hardness value obtained on the variation of holding time of 60 minutes and holding th ion.
