ABSTRAK Pentingnya rancang fasilitas bagi operasi suatu perusahaan sangat besar manfaatnya, pengaruh yang paling besar adalah pada sistem dan peralatan material handling, biaya proses pemindahan bahan ini pada beberapa kasus bisa mencapai 70% dari total biaya produksi. Jika suatu perusahaan secara kontinyu memperbaiki operasi produksinya ke arah yang lebih efektif dan efisien maka harus selalu mengadakan relayout dan menyusun kegiatan yang berjalan . Harus diketahui bahwa aliran barang biasanya merupakan tulang punggung fasilitas produksi, dan harus dirancang dengan cermat serta tidak boleh dibiarkan tumbuh atau berkembang menjadi satu pola lalu lintas yang membingungkan bagai benang kusut. satu produk yang diproduksi oleh PT. ZAP yaitu casing pump, jumlah yang diinginkan oleh client adalah 3000 unit per bulan, dalam hal ini permasalahannya selalu sama yaitu keterlambatan kurang lebih 7 hari dari jadw al pengiriman setiap bulannya. Metode yang digunakan untuk merancang fasilitas ini adalah Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) untuk menambah efisiensi waktu dengan cara memperbaiki aliran material dan meminimasi aliran material yang saling bersilangan. Lokasi yang akan di rancang ulang disini adalah departemen machining pada PT.ZAP. Berdasarkan hasil analisis layout, activity relationship chart, activity relationship diagram, space relationship diagram, dan perhitungan space requirement, dirancang alternatif layout serta dilakukan perhitungan ongkos material handling terhadap alternatif layout tersebut.Berdasarkan hasil analisa pada alternatif layout dapat menurunkan jarak perpindahan material sebesar 57,26% Kata kunci : Metode SLP, layout, efisiensi waktu, aliran material, machining ABSTRACT The importance of designing facilities for the operation of a company is very beneficial, the greatest influence was on the system and material handling equipment, the cost of this material handling process in some cases can reach 70% of the total cost of production. If a company continuously improve its production operations to a more effective and efficient it must always perform relayout and arrange activities running. It must be known that the flow of goods usually are the backbone of the production facilities, and must be carefully designed and should not be allowed to grow or develop into a confusing traffic pattern like tangled yarn. the products manufactured by PT. ZAP is pump casing, the amount wanted by the client is 3,000 units per month, in this case the problem is always the same, namely a delay of approximately 7 days from the delivery schedule every month. The method used to design this facility is Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) to increase time efficiency by improving material flow and minimize material flow intersecting. The location will be redesignated here, is the machining department at PT.ZAP. Based on the results of the analysis of layout, the activity relationship chart, activity relationship diagram, space relationship diagram, and the calculation of space requirements, alternative designed layout and material handling costs calculation of the alternative layouts .Based on results of the analysis on the alternative layout can reduce material displacement distance of 57, 26% keywords : SLP Method, layout, time efficiency, material flow, machining
