ABSTRAK Pada pekerjaan project Desuperheater yang dikerjakan di PT. Tuban Steel Work, material ASTM A 53 Grade B untuk pipa berukuran lebih dari 14 inch menggunakan metode PWHT (Post Weld Heat Treatment) dalam proses pengelasannya. Hal ini bertujuan untuk mengantisipasi cacat yang timbul pada material setelah dialakukan proses pengelasan. Pada penelitian ini menganalisa proses PWHT yang dikerjakan pada material ASTM A 53 Grade B. Metode PWHT yang dilakukan adalah Local PWHT. Selain itu, menganalisa nilai kekerasan material setelah perlakuan proses PWHT. Pada proses pengelasannya dilakukan beberapa tahapan. Jenis pengelasan yang digunakan adalah GTAW dan SMAW. Proses pengelasan dan perlakuan PWHT dilakuakan sesuai WPS yang direkomendasikan perusahaan. Setelah dilakukan proses PWHT material ASTM A 53 Grade B diijinkan sesuai kriteria penerimaan. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian Hardness Vickers bahwa nilai kekerasan material ASTM A 53 Grade B pada semua titik pengujian sebesar 156 – 230 HVN. Berdasarkan hasil uji bending sesuai kriteria penerimaan ASME Section IX dengan besar keretakan keretakan Side Bend 3 sebesar 2,21 mm dan keretakan Side Bend 4 sebesar 0,42 mm. Sesuai kriteria penerimaan ASME Section IX hasil uji tensile diijinkan dengan nilai tensile strenght 506,66 MPa. Kata Kunci : PWHT, GTAW, SMAW, ASTM A 53 Grade B. ABSTRACT PT. Tuban Steel Work is one company that is engaged in fabrication. Some of the production activity is to pipe fabrication Desuperheater project. In this work the material ASTM A 53 Grade B for pipe larger than 14 inches using the PWHT (Post Weld Heat Treatment) in the welding process. It aims to anticipate the defects that arise in the material after the welding process. In this study analyzed the PWHT process on the material ASTM A 53 Grade B. It use Local PWHT methode. Moreover, analyzing the material hardness after PWHT treatment process. In the welding process carried out several stages. Types of welding GTAW and SMAW is used. Welding and PWHT treatment process conducted in accordance WPS recommended company. After done PWHT process material ASTM A 53 Grade B allowed under the acceptance criteria. Based on the test results that the Vickers Hardness value of hardness of material ASTM A 53 Grade B at all test points at 156-230 HVN. Based on the results of the bending test according to ASME Section IX acceptance criteria with large cracks for Side Bend 3 of 2.21 mm and Side Bend 4 of 0.42 mm. As per ASME Section IX acceptance criteria tensile test results is allowed by the value of 506.66 MPa tensile strenght. Keywords: PWHT, GTAW, SMAW, ASTM A 53 Grade B.
