ABSTRAK PT.Perkebunan Nusantara X adalah perusahaan pengolah tanaman tebu menjadi gula dan beberapa bahan baku untuk diolah seperti blotong yang digunakan untuk bahan campuran pupuk kompos dan tetes yang dimanfaatkan untuk bahan utama penyedap masakan. PT.Perkebunan Nusantara X terdiri dari beberapa Pabrik Gula dan salah satunya adalah PG.Meritjan yang berada di Kediri. Didalam melakukan proses produksinya, PG. ini memiliki pembangkit sendiri yaitu berupa Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap (PLTU). Sedangkan sumber listrik dari PT.PLN (Persero ) hanya bisa memberikan daya sebesar 555 kVA. Untuk unit PLTU, PG.Meritjan memiliki dua unit mesin PLTU dengan kapasitas yang berbeda, yaitu pada PLTU Toyo Denki memiliki kapasitas sebesar 4.300 kW dan pada PLTU Ebara memiliki kapasitas sebesar 1.630 kW. Kedua PLTU tersebut sangat jarang jika beroperasi secara bersamaan, karena turbin Toyo Denki yang selalu digunakan pada saat masa giling berlangsung sedangkan turbin Ebara sudah tidak pernah dipakai sejak adanya turbin Toyo Denki. Hal ini dikarenakan kapasitas dayanya yang kurang untuk memenuhi kebutuhan daya pabrik. Hal tersebut disebabkan agar lebih hemat dalam penggunaan steam dan ampas tebu. Dengan pemanfaatan ampas tebu ini, dapat menghemat bahan bakar boiler dan juga dapat menghemat biaya pengeluaran pabrik. Karena biaya pengeluaran yang lebih sedikit maka diharapkan dapat lebih efisien saat menggunakan turbin alternator tersebut. Kata-kata kunci : Turbin, Steam, Biaya, Efisiensi. ABSTRACT PT. PN X is a company processing sugarcane into sugar and some raw materials to be processed as blotong used for a mixture of compost and drops the main ingredient used for flavoring dishes. PT.PN X consist of several sugar mills and one of them is PG.Meritjan in Kediri. In the process of production, this PG. has it own power plant that is in the form of steam power (power plant). While the power source from PT.PLN (Persero) can only provide power equal to 555 kVA. For the power plant unit, PG.Meritjan has two units of the power plant machine with the different capacity. There are Toyo Denki Steam Turbine that has a capacity of 4.300 kW and Ebara Steam Turbine that has a capacity of 1.630 kW. Both project, very rarely, if operated simultaneously, because the Toyo Denki Steam Turbine is always used when the grinding period progresses, while Ebara Steam Turbine have never used anymore since the existence of Toyo Denki Steam Turbine. That is because Ebara Steam Turbine could not fulfill the power needs of factory anymore. This is due to be more efficient in the use of steam and bagasse. With the utilization of bagasse that can save boiler fuel and can also save the cost of factory expenses. Because the expenses are less, then expected to be more efficient when using the turbine alternator. Keywords : Turbine, Steam, Cost, Efficient.
