ABSTRAK Windlass merupakan mesin derek jangkar yang berfungsi untuk menggerakkan jangkar dan chain pada saat proses lego jangkar dan juga angkat jangkar. Sebuah windlass harus mampu menahan kapal dalam posisi kunci saat berlabuh di lepas pantai atau sandar di dermaga. Tenaga motor penggerak windlass terdiri dari beberapa sistem seperti electric drive, steam drive, dan hydraulic drive yang diatur oleh sebuah sistem rangkaian kontrol. Dalam penentuan windlass harus memperhatikan beban kapal serta sistem tenaga motor penggeraknya. Pada awalnya kapal KM. FC Nicholas II ten aga penggerak motor windlass menggunakan sistem hydraulic drive. Akan tetapi, karena beberapa permasalahan yang sering terjadi maka sistem tenaga penggerak motor diganti dengan sistem electric drive. Beberapa permasalahan yang sering terjadi diantaranya: kebocoran tangki, kerusakan rubber coupling, kerusakan pada manual clutch, kerusakan pada selang hidrolik, dll. Pergantian ini dimaksudkan untuk menghilangkan permasalahan-permasalahan yang terjadi tersebut dan membuat kerja dari windlass lebih baik. Berdasarkan perhitungan menurut spesifikasi kapal diperoleh daya motor penggerak windlass sistem electric drive sebesar 68.235 HP. Sedangkan untuk daya input sistem hydraulic drive 80 HP dan untuk sistem electric drive sebesar 97.66 HP. Maka sistem hydraulic drive lebih efisien dari segi input karena lebih mendekati perhitungan. Kata kunci : windlass, electric drive, hydraulic drive ABSTRACK Windlass anchor winch is used to move the anchor and chain during the process of anchoring and also lift anchor. A windlass should be able to hold the ship in a key position when anchored offshore or dock at the pier. Motor propulsion of windlass consists of several systems such as electric drive, steam drive, and hydraulic drives are governed by a system control circuit. In determining the windlass must pay attention to load ships and power of motor drive system. At KM. FC Nicholas II propulsion motors windlass was used hydraulic drive system. However, because some of the problems that often occur then the motor propulsion system is replaced with the electric drive system. Some of the problems that often occur include: tank leaks, damage rubber coupling, damage to the manual clutch, damage to the hydraulic hose, etc. This change is intended to eliminate the problems that occurred and make a better job of windlass. Based on the calculation according to the specifications of the ship gained power windlass motor electric drive system for 68.235 HP. Input power of hydraulic drive system is 80 HP and for electric drives is 97.66 HP. Then the hydraulic drive system is more efficient in terms of input because it is closer to the calculation.
