ABSTRAK Crankshaft merupakan komponen dalam motor diesel yang memegang peranan penting dalam proses pembakaran. Sehingga apabila crankshaft pada motor diesel mengalami masalah, baik pada motor induk maupun motor bantu akan sangat berpengaruh pada kelancaran operasional motor tersebut, dan dapat mengakibatkan kerusakan komponen lainnya. Dalam kasus yang terjadi pada motor bantu type DEUTZ MWM TBD604BL6 di MV. MERATUS BATAM, mekanik kurang memperhatikan sistem pelumasan, terutama perawatan pada filter oli, sehingga menyebabkan filter oli tidak bekerja dengan baik. Kotoran atau gram-gram yang terdapat pada carter ikut masuk dalam lubang-lubang pelumasan crankshaft dan mengakibatkan goresan-goresan pada crankshaft, temperatur oli pelumas dalam motor bantu juga menjadi sangat tinggi akibat gesekan antara crank journal dengan crank pin bearing, maupun main journal dengan main bearing sehingga membuat motor diesel tersebut mengalami trip dan mengharuskan motor diesel itu untuk melakukan perbaikan atau overhaul. Banyak hal yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengurangi resiko tersebut,yaitu lebih memperhatikan performa dari komponen sistem pelumas seperti filter oli, pendingin oli dan pompa oli, agar kasus seperti ini tidak terulang kembali. Kata Kunci : Crankshaft, Sistem Pelumas, Filter Oli, Temperatur ABSTRACT Crankshaft is an component in the diesel motor has an important role in the process. So if crankshaft in diesel motor getting trouble, both in main engine and auxiliary engine is very influential on the smooth operation of these motors, and it can getting damage other component. In the case of auxiliary engine type DEUTZ MWM TBD604BL6 in MV. MERATUS BATAM,mechanic gives less attention lubrication system,especially maintenance of oil filter, so causes oil filter does not work propely, and grams or impurities contained in the charter go into lubrication holes of crankshaft, so it causes scratche on crankshaft. The temperature lubrication oil in auxiliary engine also becomes very high because of the friction between crank journal with crank pin bearing or main journal with main bearing so it make diesel motor getting trip components and it requires the diesel motor to repair or overhaul . Many things can be done to reduce the risk, they are cleneaning, more be givven attention performance from component lubrication system, example oil filter, oil cooler, oil pump so this case will not repead again.
