Abstract
The process of transfer of LPG from tanker to storage tank is assisted by Marine Loading Arm or commonly called MLA which works to connect ship with transfer pipes to storage tank.BesideMLA there are also pumps on ships that pump LPG from tankers to storage tanks. The Walio and Widuri Ships have 2 pumps, cargo pumps and booster pumps. But the automatic pump only booster pump. Problems in the field is, mass flowrate that produce pumps do not reach expectations. Therefore, a cargo pump will be used to increase the mass flow rate. In this study, recalculation of diameter diameter of the transfer pipe from the jetty to the storage tank will be recalculated due to mass flow from the load pump, with 8", 10" and 12". And in this calculation using a mass flow rate of 430 MT / hour. The velocity from each variation will be compared to the API RP 14E standard. Then choose which diameter is the most efficient based on total head loss. The results of the calculation of the width of each diameter that meets API 14E standards and the total head loss found for 8" diameter is 86,904 m, for 10" diameter is 26,131 m and for 12" diameter is 12,099 m. So the recommended pipe diameter is 12 ".
