ABSTRAK Pada PT.X Pengelasan FCAW metode One side(backing ceramic) pada penyambungan joint bock kapal perang memang diakui tepat dan cepat dibanding prngrlasan SMAW, namun akibat dari aplikasi metode One side (backing ceramc) ini membuat timbulnnya banyak permasalahan diantarannya reinforcement yang lebar, pengelasan yang lama, banyak sambungan pengelasan, fit-up yang lama serta penggunaan stopper yang banyak menjadi faktor penyebab nnya cacat pada permukaan dan penetrasi. Maka dari itu dengan melihat kedepan bertambahnnya jumlah pemesanan kapal perang di PT.X diterapkanlah pengelasan FCAW metode Minimalisasi gap (back gouging) unutk menunjang produktifitas, efisien, dan pengoptimalan. Metode Minimalisasi gap (back gouging)adalah metode pembaharuan dari metode One side yang mana berpengaruh terhadaphasil penetrasi, kuat tarik, serta efisien dan optimal untuk waktu pengelasan, fit-up, penggunaan stopper. Dari hasil penetrasi pengelasannya FCAWmetode Minimalisasi gap hasilnnya fusi, kuat tarik lolos dalam range standart , unutk hasil optimal dan efisien waktu pengelasan lebih cepat 37.36%, consumable berkurang 22.28%, Stopper 50%, backing ceramic 100%. Hasil dari pengelasan FCAW metode Minimalisasi gap(backing keramic), pengujian visual reinforcement masuk kedalam range standart (tanpa repair), kuat tarik masuk dalam range standart, hasil penetrasi fusi, serta hasil waktu pengelasan, consumable, dan stopper hasilnnya menjadi lebih efisien dan optimal. Kata kunci :One side(backing ceramic), Minimalisasi gap(back gouging), reinforcement, consumable, stopper, fit-up, fusi ABSTRACT PT.X FCAW welding One side (backing ceramic) method of joint bock battleship is recognized accurately and quickly compared to SMAW prada, but as a result of One side (backing ceramc) method application makes many problems arise in wide reinforcement, welding The old, the many welding connections, the old fit-up and the use of a lot of stopper are the factors causing the defects on the surface and penetration. Therefore, by looking forward, the number of war ship orders in PT.X is applied FCAW welding method Minimalization gap (back gouging) to support productivity, efficiency, and optimization. Minimizing gap (back gouging) method is a renewal of One side method which penetration result, tensile strength, and efficient and optimal for welding time, fit-up, stopper usage. From the results of welding penetration FCAWmetode Minimalization gap results fusion, tensile strength pass in a standard range, for optimal results and efficient welding time faster 37.36%, consumable reduced 24.28%, 50% stopper, 100% backing ceramic. Results of FCAW welding method Minimization gap (backing ceramic), visual reinforcement testing into the standard range (without repair), tensile strength entered in the standard range, and the results of welding time, consumable, and stopper hasilnnya become more efficient and optimal.
