Abstract

ABSTRAK Dalam proses pelaksanaan pengelasan Duplex Stainless Steel,sering dijumpai pengelasan yang tidak sesuai dengan prosedur sehingga harus dilakukan proses perbaikan atau repair pada hasil pengelasan. Namun dalam proses perbaikan atau repair, material Duplex Stainless Steel memiliki batas tertentu untuk dilakukan perbaikan atau repair, karena dalam proses perbaikan atau repair akan mempengaruhi sifat mekanik dan struktur di dalamnya. Pada penelitian ini akan dilakukan 4 variasi proses repair pada material duplex stainless steel antara lain dilakukannya repair setelah proses pengelasan sebanyak 1 kali, 2 kali, 3 kali dan tanpa dilakukan repair yang diaplikasikan pada hasil pengelasan. Kemudian dilakukan pengujian mikro, microhardness ferrite content dan pengujian sel tiga elektroda. Hasil dari penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa semakin tinggi frekuensi repair, semakin besar pula kandungan ferrite pada weld metal. Begitu pula pada hasil pengujian hardness dan pengujian korosi, dimana kekerasan material dan laju korosi meningkat sejalan dengan bertambahnya proses repair Kata kunci: Duplex stainless steel, repair, ferrite content ABSTRACT On the implementations of Duplex Stainless Steel welding process, it often found not in accordance with the applicable procedure so the repair process mostly needed. But Duplex stainless steel material has a certain limit to be repaired because of the previous research has been proved that repair process could affect the mechanical characteristics of material and also its structure. There are 4 variations for this research, which are the repair process of duplex stainless steel that conduct once, twice, three times on weld metal and without repair process. After the welding process has been done, the tests that will be taken are microstructure test, microhardness test, ferrite content test and three electrode test. The result of the tests explain that the higher frequency of repair process, the higher of ferrite content in weld metal. So that the result of microhardness and ferrite content test of material, which is the higher frequency of repair process, the higher hardness value and corrosion rate of the material.
