Abstract

ABSTRAK Cooling Tower merupakan suatu peralatan yang digunakan untuk menurunkan temperatur aliran air dengan cara menguapkan panas dari air ke atmosfer. Cooling tower sangat diperlukan disetiap perusahaan, khususnya pada perusahaan Mitra Mulia Makmur di Sidoarjo. Cooling tower yang ada di perusahaan tersebut setiap harinya bekerja selama 24 jam walaupun suhu temperatur air telah tercapai, cooling tower masih tetap menyala meskipun tidak dioperasikan. Hal ini yang membuat waktu penggunaan listriknya menjadi tidak efisien. Penggunaan listrik yang berlebihan dapat mengeluarkan biaya yang lebih banyak bagi perusahaan. Dengan adanya permasalahan ini peneliti mengangkat judul Tugas Akhir yaitu “Rancang Bangun Prototipe Monitoring dan Kontrol Temperatur Cooling Tower Berbasis Arduino di PT. Mitra Mulia Makmur”. Rancang bangun prototipe monitoring dan kontrol temperatur cooling tower berbasis Arduino menggunakan 2 buah sensor yaitu sensor suhu LM35 untuk mendeteksi kondisi ruangan (room) dan sensor DS18B20 untuk temperatur air (water) pada cooling tower. Fan akan berputar secara otomatis apabila temperatur air berada diatas suhu ruangan dan akan berhenti berputar ketika telah mencapai suhu ruangan atau dibawah suhu ruangan. Pada percobaan yang telah dilakukan sebanyak 5 kali didapatkan hasil persentase error 0.2%. Kata kunci : Cooling Tower, Temperatur, Arduino, Sensor LM35, Sensor DS18B20, Efisiensi Listrik ABSTRACT Cooling Tower is an instrument which is used to lower the water flow temperatures by evaporating heat from water into the atmosphere. Cooling tower is needed in every company, especially at Mitra Mulia Makmur company in Sidoarjo. Cooling tower which is exist in that company work for 24 hours every day even though the temperature of the water has been reached, cooling tower is still on although it’s not in operation. This makes the timing of electricity usage inefficient. Excessive use of electricity can cost more for the company. With this problem, the researcher takes the title of the Final Project " Monitoring Of Prototype Build Design And Control Of Cooling Tower Temperature Based Arduino In PT. Mitra Mulia Makmur ". Monitoring of prototype build design and control of cooling tower temperature based arduino is using 2 units sensors they are LM35 temperature sensor to detect a room condition and DS18B20 sensor for water temperature at cooling tower. The fan will rotate automatically when the water temperature is above room temperature and will stop rotating when it has reached room temperature or below room temperature.
